MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517083846 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Sept. 3, 2025, for 'battery management apparatus and battery management method.'
Inventor(s) include Cha, A-Ming; Bae, Yoon-Jung; and Kim, Yong-Jun.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A battery management apparatus and a battery management method are disclosed. The battery management apparatus according to the present invention comprises: a setting control unit for setting a reference voltage, which is a reference for determining risk due to a gas surge; a measurement unit for measuring the voltage of a battery cell; and a diagnostic unit for diagnosing the battery cell as a dangerous cell having a risk level, due to the gas surge, higher than or equal to a predetermined level if a state in which the voltage of the battery cell is higher than the reference voltage continues for a first reference time or longer."
