MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517051709 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on May 29, for 'battery fault diagnosis device and operating method therefor.'

Inventor(s) include Yoon, Sung Yul; Kim, In Sik; Lee, Jeong Bin; Kim, Soon Jong; Kim, Won Kyung; Kwon, Ki Wook; and Song, Young Seok.

The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A battery fault diagnosis device according to one embodiment of the present document may comprise: an acquisition unit for acquiring voltage-state of charge (SOC) profiles of a plurality of battery units; an identification unit for identifying, on the basis of the voltage-SOC profiles, the first number of ranks designated to each of the plurality of battery units; and a diagnosis unit for diagnosing a fault of the plurality of battery units on the basis of relative positions of the ranks."
