MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517065813 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on July 10, for 'battery cell.'
Inventor(s) include Noh, Tae Heon.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a battery cell, and specifically to a battery cell in which the protruding direction of leads is changed so as to enable reducing the length of a battery module, a busbar may be freely designed due to using a space larger than in conventional cases, the width of a tab is maximized so as to enable effective current density and heating, and the welding area of the lead and the tab is enlarged than in conventional cases so as to enable the stable coupling thereof. The battery cell, according to the present invention, may comprise: an electrode; electrode tabs disposed on respective end parts of the electrode in a first direction; and electrode leads coupled to the electrode tabs and formed so as to extend in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction."
