MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517005785 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Jan. 24, for 'battery cell, battery pack, and vehicle comprising same.'

Inventor(s) include Ko, Kwang-Hun; Choi, Su-Ji; Kim, Do-Gyun; Lee, Da-Som; and Hwangbo, Kwang-Su.

The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A battery cell according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: an electrode assembly which includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator interposed therebetween; a battery housing which accommodates the electrode assembly through an open part formed at one side thereof; and a housing cover which covers the open part and has a venting part configured to be ruptured when the internal pressure in the battery housing is increased to a predetermined level or higher, wherein: the venting part comprises an upper notched portion provided at the upper surface of the housing cover and a lower notched portion provided at the lower surface of the housing cover; and the upper and lower notched portions are provided to be offset from each other."

The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 22, 2023, under International application No.PCT/KR2023/018929.
