MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517046874 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on May 15, for 'battery cell, battery pack, and automobile comprising same.'
Inventor(s) include Choi, Su-Ji; Ko, Kwang-Hun; Kim, Do-Gyun; Youn, Young-Suk; Lee, Da-Som; and Hwangbo, Kwang-Su.
The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A battery cell, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises: an electrode assembly in which a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator interposed therebetween are wound around a winding axis to define a core and an outer circumferential surface, wherein the first electrode includes a first uncoated portion that is not coated with an active material layer along a winding direction; a battery housing which has an opening on one side thereof and receives the electrode assembly through the opening; and a current collector which includes a support portion that is disposed on an upper portion of the electrode assembly, a tab coupling portion that extends from the support portion and is coupled to the first uncoated portion, and a housing coupling portion that extends from the support portion, is electrically coupled to an inner surface of the battery housing, and is configured to be extendable in length."
