MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517037989 A) filed by Contemporary Amperex Technology (HONG KONG) Limited, Hong Kong, on April 21, for 'battery cell, battery, and electric device.'
Inventor(s) include Wu, Kai; Chen, Xiaobo; Li, Yao; Gu, Mingguang; and Ke, Jianhuang.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided in the embodiments of the present application are a battery cell, a battery and an electric device. The battery cell comprises: a shell, which comprises a first wall; and a pressure relief mechanism, which is arranged on the first wall, wherein the pressure relief mechanism has a burst pressure of P1 and the shell has a burst pressure of P2, where P2 = 1.7 MPa and P2 P1. In the technical solution of the present application, the burst pressure P2 of the shell is designed to be 1.7 MPa or above, which can greatly improve the compressive strength of the shell. Such a design can reduce the risk of the shell bursting with the pressure relief of the pressure relief mechanism and can effectively improve the stability of directional pressure relief of the battery cell from the pressure relief mechanism, thereby effectively improving the structural stability and safety of the battery cell."
The patent application was internationally filed on Sept. 22, 2022, under International application No.PCT/CN2022/120618.
