MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517119948 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Dec. 1, 2025, for 'battery, and battery pack and vehicle including same.'

Inventor(s) include Lee, So-Yeon; Lee, So-Ra; Lim, Seong-Min; and Kim, Young-Jin.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A battery according to one embodiment of the present invention includes: an electrode assembly having a winding center hole formed by winding a stack including a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator interposed therebetween; a battery housing having an opening formed on one side thereof and capable of accommodating the electrode assembly in an inner space; and a cap covering the opening and including a fixing region, which is fixed to the battery housing, and an open region, which is surrounded by the fixing region, wherein the open region includes a plurality of fracture lines formed to be recessed, and when the internal pressure of the battery housing increases to a certain magnitude or more, at least a portion of the fracture lines is fractured so that at least one region is bent toward the fixing region and opens."

The patent application was internationally filed on Oct. 07, 2024, under International application No.PCT/KR2024/015228.
