MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122943 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'batch-processed rns-ntt modular multiplier for homomorphic encryption.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Ravi S; and Subhavarshini B.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a batch-processed modular multiplier for homomorphic encryption comprising an input module configured to receive operand pairs for batch processing, a residue number system decomposition unit configured to decompose each operand into residues using coprime moduli selected from 7, 11, and 13, a forward number theoretic transform module configured to transform the residues into frequency domain representation using primitive roots of unity, a pointwise modular multiplication unit configured to perform element-wise multiplication of transformed residues, an inverse number theoretic transform module configured to convert multiplied results back to time domain representation, and a Chinese remainder theorem reconstruction unit configured to combine time domain residues into final modular multiplication results for each operand pair."
