MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511133188 A) filed by Rayat Bahra University; Bahra University; and Rayat Bahra Professional University, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 29, 2025, for 'basketball training device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A basketball training device, comprising a body 101 having multiple motorized mecanum wheels 102, which are developed to autonomously navigate across a basketball training environment with precision and agility, a biometric secured chamber 103 arranged to store a wearable unit 104, which is accessible only after biometric authentication via an integrated biometric scanner 105 located on an outer wall of the body 101, multiple physiological sensors 112, configured to continuously monitor heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), exertion load, fatigue patterns, and other physiological variations of a player during training sessions, a monitoring module captures positional, postural, and ball-movement data of the player, a ball-handling assembly is provided on either side of the body 101 to facilitate dribbling, passing, scoring, and defensive maneuvers, a motorized scissor-lift platform 110 at the bottom of the body 101 enables raising or lowering the device in real-time based on training conditions."
