MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006604 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 31, 2024, for 'barrel handling device.'
Inventor(s) include Preeti Bansal; Dr. Ashima Kalra; Dr. Rachin Goyal; Prateek Ranjan; Saumil Aggarwal; Saloni; and Somesh Shukla.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A barrel handling device, comprising a D-shaped frame 1 developed to be positioned adjacent to a barrel secured via multiple suction cups 2 attached with the frame 1, a pair of curve shaped member 3 attached with the frame 1 securing frame 1 with barrel, an imaging unit 4 installed on the frame 1 determining barrel's mouth portion, an inverted rod 5 attached with a structure 6 for rotating the barrel via multiple motorized balls 7 arranged on the member 3 and structure 6, a microphone 8 assembled on the frame 1 enabling user's voice commands, a suction cup 9 attached with the frame 1 securing barrel on a ground surface, a motorized slider 10 assembled on the frame 1 arranged with multiple blocks 11 for tilting the barrel a speaker 12 assembled on the frame 1 for notifying the user."
