MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441012506 A) filed by JAIN, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 21, 2024, for 'barrel drum relocation assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Dasarathy A K.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 5, under issue no. 36/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A barrel drum relocation assistive device comprises of a circular platform 1 accessed by a user to install platform 1 over a lid of a barrel drum to be translocated, multiple suction units 2 to affix platform 1 with drum, an ultrasonic sensor determines distance between platform 1 and ground surface, a speaker 4 guides user to tilt drum, an tilt sensor to monitor tilting of platform 1, a motorized ball and socket joint 5 provides rotation to tilted drum for providing movement to drum, a microphone 6 to receive voice command of user regarding opening of drum, an imaging unit 7 for determining dimensions of lid of drum, multiple robotic arms 8 to position a suction cup 9 over lid and a motorized sliding unit 10 to provide translation to arms 8 in view of applying a force over lid in a pre-defined direction for opening lid."
