MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511134041 A) filed by Niit University; and Rakshit Sawarn, Majrakath, Rajasthan, on Dec. 31, 2025, for 'barcode scanning system and method thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a barcode scanning system (100) comprising an imaging unit (102), a processor (104), and a storage unit (106). The imaging unit (102) is configured to capture one or more images such that each image of the one or more images comprising a barcode format. The processor (104) performs one or more image enhancement techniques on the one or more images, decodes the barcode format associated with each image of the one or more images, determines a type of at least one transaction corresponding to an input provided by a user, and updates, based on the type of the at least one transaction, one or more inventory records associated with an inventory, wherein the one or more inventory records are updated by one of, incrementing or decrementing stock levels upon sale events. The storage unit (106) stores product data associated with the barcode format of each image of the one or more images."
