MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024001 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'barbell lifting aid device.'

Inventor(s) include Meenu Walia.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A barbell lifting aid device comprising a pair of cylindrical hollow bodies 1 accommodated over arms of a user, two C-shaped members 2 are installed with each bodies 1 that are manually engaged with a barbell, a laser sensor detects dimensions of user's arms, an air compressor inflates an inflatable unit configured within each of bodies 1 for securing bodies 1 on user's arms, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 detects length of barbell, a laser projection unit 4 guides user in engaging members 2 at required location on barbell to maintain appropriate load of barbell on user's hands, and an electromagnetic spring 5 configured between each of members 2 and bodies 1 to compress to prevent any chances of falling of barbell, thus avoiding any chances of leg/foot injury to user."
