MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020667 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 19, 2024, for 'barbed wire fence securing and maintenance device.'

Inventor(s) include Tarun Kr. Sharma; R. P. Agarwal; Vinod Kr. Rathi; and Varun Bansal.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A barbed wire fence securing and maintenance device, comprising a frame 1 having a pair of telescopically operated curve shaped plates 2 and developed to be installed on a fixed anchor surface, a handle 3 for providing grip to a user on frame 1, a laser sensor frame 1 for detecting dimension of surface, an imaging unit 4 to determine presence and positioning of a barbed fence wire in proximity to frame 1, a pair of motorized sliding unit 5 each configured with a hook 6 for providing movement to hooks 6 to engage the wire with hooks 6, a tension sensor for detecting tension in wire, a motorized ball and socket joint is integrated between hooks 6 and sliding unit 5 for providing a rotational motion to hooks 6 that aids in winding of wire around hooks 6 which results in tightening or loosening of wire."
