MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517094750 A) filed by Goodman Co. Ltd., Aichi, Japan, on Oct. 1, for 'balloon catheter.'

Inventor(s) include Okamoto, Mitsumasa.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This balloon catheter comprises: a balloon 13 that can expand and contract; and a linear protrusion 20 that protrudes from the surface of the balloon 13 and extends in the axial direction of the balloon 13 along the surface thereof. A plurality of the protrusions 20 are arranged at intervals in the circumferential direction of the balloon 13. The balloon 13 is formed in a contracted state and has vanes 22 extending to the outside in the radial direction of the balloon 13. The vanes 22 extend in the axial direction of the balloon 13, and each vane is arranged so that the entirety thereof is positioned between adjacent protrusions 20 in the circumferential direction of the balloon 13 when viewed in a cross-section orthogonal to the axial direction."
