MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641041593 A) filed by Kalasalingam Academy Of Research And Education, Krishnankoil, Tamil Nadu, on April 1, for 'baggage scanner device with integral conveyer and weighing platform.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The titled invention discloses a compact baggage scanner device designed to verify both the weight and internal contents of baggage such as fruits, vegetables, and other consumer products during distribution. The system comprises a conveyor base frame (1) supported by floor supporting bush (2) and includes a transparent conveyor belt (5) driven by a motor drive (7) for continuous movement of baggage from a baggage io loader platform (6). A baggage scanner module (10) mounted under the panel surface of the LCD monitor (11) emits scanning signals through the baggage, which are received by a photo detector array panel (3) positioned opposite to the scanner module (10). A radiation protective shield (4) is provided for safe operation. The scanned result is displayed on an LCD monitor (11) for verification of contents. Upon approval, the is conveyor moves the baggage to a weighing platform (12) positioned at the end to measure its weight. The invention provides a simple and effective system that checks contents before weighing, helping to prevent cheating and ensuring fairtrade in market areas."
