MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441032095 A) filed by M. S. Ramaiah University Of Applied Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka, on April 23, 2024, for 'bacteria in-corporated high strength sustainable self-healing self-consolidating geopolymer concrete.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 24, under issue no. 43/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Bacteria In-corporated High Strength Sustainable Self-healing Self-consolidating Geopolymer Concrete A Self-Healing Self-Consolidating Geopolymer Concrete (SHSCGC) comprising combination of Self-Consolidating Geopolymer Concrete (SCGC) and Bacterial Concrete (BC), wherein the Self-Healing Self-Consolidating Geopolymer Concrete comprising; 292.5kg/m3 of GGBFS, 135kg/m3 of Fly Ash, 22.5 kg/m3 of Alccofine, 135 kg/m3 of 14M NaOH Solution, 135 kg/m3 of Na2SiO3 Solution, 925kg/m3 of Coarse Aggregate, 925kg/m3 of Fine Aggregate, 4.5 kg/m3 of Super plasticizer, 54 kg/m3 of Free Water and 36 kg/m3 of Bacterial Solution of total cementitious content. The prepared concrete having the properties of Slump flow of 724 mm, T50 Slump Flow of 2.9 sec, V-Funnel of 8.8 sec, L-Box of 0.93 mm and J-Ring of 2.7 mm. They exhibits compression strength of 69.87Mpa, Split Tensile strength of 3.36Mpa, Flexural strength of 4.28Mpa after 56days and optical density value of 1.642 after 180 days."
