MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514091534 A) filed by Skylotec Gmbh, Neuwied, Germany, on Sept. 24, 2025, for 'backup swivel for providing double safety.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a backup swivel for providing double safety, comprising a first connecting cylinder (1) configured for passing through at least one main rope and/or a main swivel, a second connecting cylinder (2) configured for passing through the at least one main rope and/or the main swivel, a first bracket (3) con-figured for connecting at least one first backup rope and/or at least one first back-up carabiner and a second bracket (4) configured for connecting at least one sec-ond backup rope and/or at least one second backup carabiner, whereby the first connecting cylinder (1) and the second connecting cylinder (2) are attached to-gether in a twistable manner, the first connecting cylinder (1) is radially at least partly arranged within the second connecting cylinder (2), and the first bracket (3) is swiveling attached to the first connecting cylinder (1) and the second bracket (4) is swiveling attached to the second connecting cylinder (2)."
