MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511105677 A) filed by Hcl Technologies Limited, New Delhi, on Oct. 31, 2025, for 'auxiliary wheel assembly and locking device thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A locking device (102), an auxiliary wheel assembly, and a two-wheeler vehicle (208) are disclosed. The locking device (102) includes a pair of pivot arms (104) adjoined to a first surface (106) of a chassis (108) of two-wheeler vehicle (208). The pair of pivot arms (104) is configured to switch between a deployed position (100b) and a stowed position (100a). The locking device (102) includes a locking assembly (110) mechanically coupled with pair of pivot arms (104). The locking assembly (110) includes a spring-loaded arm (112) affixed to each of pair of pivot arms (104) and subjected to deformation under application of a predefined force, and locks the movement of each of pair of pivot arms (104) in response to deformation. The locking assembly (110) includes a passive load-sensitive element (124) engaged to an end of each of pair of pivot arms (104), preventing backward folding."
