MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011173 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 10, for 'auxiliary mounting device for steering wheels.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Dhirendra Nath Thatoi.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An auxiliary mounting device for steering wheels, comprises of a rectangular frame 101 having a rectangular base 102 enabled to be tilted via a pair of pin joints 103, a pair of clamps 104 mounted on pair of sliding units 105 via primary ball and socket joints 106 for gripping steering wheel of a vehicle, multiple pop-out balls 107 configured with the clamps 104 for translation of the frame 101 along the steering wheel, an imaging unit 108 in synchronization with a laser sensor determine position and dimensions of the steering wheel, temperature sensor detects an ambient temperature, an air blower installed on the frame 101 to blow air, a rectangular flap 109 having a multiple suction cups 110 installed on the base 102 via a secondary ball and socket joint, cuboidal storage chamber 112 attached underneath the frame 101 via a drawer arrangement for storage of items."
