MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611050923 A) filed by Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on April 21, for 'autonomous transformer oil leak detection and fire prevention system.'
Inventor(s) include Pritika Singh; Sagar Singh; and Dr. Alok Singh Sengar.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An autonomous transformer oil leak detection and fire prevention system, comprising a rectangular perimeter fence 101 is positioned around a transformer plinth to define a monitored and protected zone, a multi-sensor array is integrated with the fence 101 and transformer base to detect oil leaks, abnormal transformer operating conditions, and fire risk factors in real time, a plurality of cylindrical containment cartridges 102 is arranged around the transformer plinth, each housing a folded multi-layer hydrophobic oil absorption pad 103 configured to prevent fire risks, an IoT (Internet of Things) module to transmit real-time alerts and operational data to a substation control room, a fire risk assessment module computes a Fire Risk Probability Index (FRPI) from sensor data, a peristaltic pump network 104 enables controlled recovery of spilled oil."
