MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611049434 A) filed by Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University, Gurugram, Haryana, on April 17, for 'autonomous planting device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An autonomous planting device, comprising a wearable backpack body 101 supports a seed and fertilizer container 102 and includes a drill shaft 103 extending from a lower portion of the body 101, terminating in a quick-swap tip assembly 104 configured to penetrate a soil substrate, a tip carousel 105 is housed within the lower portion of the body 101 and contains a plurality of interchangeable drill tips 106, a trailing verification tine assembly is pivotally mounted ahead of the drill shaft 103, housing a plurality of soil sensors and treatment dispensing nozzles, a peristaltic dosing pump 110, connected to the container 102 via a flexible delivery tube 111, dispenses discrete doses of material, a gyro stabilizer assembly 118 with an inertial sensing unit counterbalances user posture, an acoustic verification sensor confirms seed drop, and a wireless communication module coordinates planting paths."
