MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122258 A) filed by G. Narayanamma Institute Of Technology & Science (For Women), Hyderabad, Telangana, on Dec. 4, 2025, for 'autonomous mobile smart bin automator.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Ranuva Nageswara Rao; Dr. P Buchibabu; Mr. Ch. Leela Krishna; Mrs. Pvssa Parimala; Mr. V Badri Rama Krishnan; Dr. Gouthami Eragamreddy; Mrs. Ujwala Gajula; Mrs. P Mamta; Mrs. V Suma Deepthi; and Ms. Bodiga Nandini.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to an autonomous mobile smart bin automator configured to provide automated, hygienic, and efficient waste management. The system integrates a sterilisation module comprising high-wattage ceramic resistors for heating and disinfecting collected waste, thereby reducing bacterial growth and odour. An automatic lid mechanism employing an ultrasonic sensor, spur-gear assembly, DC motor, and limit switches enables touchless opening and closing. Waste-level monitoring is achieved through dual infrared sensing circuits that detect 60% and 90% thresholds. When the full-level threshold is reached, a GSM communication module transmits a notification to designated recipients. The bin is mounted on a mobile platform driven by independently controlled DC motors operated through an RF-based remote system. A rechargeable battery and voltage-regulation circuitry supply continuous power to the microcontroller, sensors, and communication modules. The integrated system enhances sanitation, reduces manual handling, and supports deployment in public, institutional, and industrial environments."
