MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641018068 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 18, for 'autonomous indoor drone system for voice-controlled object retrieval using rfid and visual fiducial markers.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides an autonomous indoor drone system for object retrieval, placement, and tracking. The system includes a drone unit (110) configured for autonomous navigation within an indoor environment (100), having a camera (114) and a manipulator assembly (116) to engage a target object. RFID readers (130) detect RFID tags (132) on objects to provide coarse localization data. Visual fiducial markers (150) are detected by the camera (114) to provide fine positioning data. A docking station (140) with charging interface (142) receives the drone unit (110). A voice command interface (160) receives user commands. A processing unit (170) is coupled to all components and configured to process voice commands, determine location based on RFID data, generate navigation instructions based on detected markers (150), and control the manipulator assembly (116)."
