MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521110517 A) filed by Symbiosis International, Pune, Maharashtra, on Nov. 12, 2025, for 'autonomous edge-iot wildlife and fire monitoring system.'
Inventor(s) include Thammaiah M C; Manjunath B; and Dr. Saikat Gochhait.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an autonomous edge-IoT system (100) for real-time monitoring of wildlife activity and wildfire detection. The system comprises distributed IoT sensor nodes (101) equipped with thermal, acoustic, visual, and smoke/fire sensors, each integrated with an onboard AI processor for local data analysis and event classification. The sensor nodes communicate via a self-healing mesh network (102) that ensures reliable, low-latency data transmission across remote environments. Processed alerts are transmitted to a centralized monitoring center (103) featuring an alert dispatcher and operator dashboard for visualization, decision-making, and remote management. The system supports solar-powered, energy-efficient operation, modular expansion, and over-the-air updates of AI algorithms and firmware, providing a scalable, adaptive, and robust solution for enhancing wildlife conservation, environmental monitoring, and early disaster prevention in diverse terrains."
