MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517056618 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on June 12, for 'automotive sub-frame structure and stiffening component for same.'

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is an automotive sub-frame structure capable of improving the stiffness of a sub-frame and minimizing an increase in vehicle body weight. The automotive sub-frame structure comprises a left and right pair of side members which comprise hollow members that extend in a vehicle body front-rear direction of an automobile and which include a suspension arm linking portion, and two or more cross members which comprise hollow members that extend in a vehicle body left-right direction of the automobile and which are connected to the left and right pair of side members in a direction intersecting the same, wherein: stiffening components are installed inside the cross members in the vicinity of connecting portions of each cross member and each side member; and the stiffening components include a cross-sectional stiffening portion which closes all or part of a cross section of the cross member, and a plate surface stiffening portion having a shape conforming to an inner surface of an upper plate or a lower plate of the cross member and an inner surface of at least one of left and right wall plates of the cross member."
