MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024875 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'automatic wire stripping device.'

Inventor(s) include Richa Salwan.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automatic wire stripping device comprising, a cuboidal shaped body 1 carved with a V-shaped slot 2 for accommodating an electric wire, a handle 3 is attached with body 1 for providing grip to user while handling the body, a pair of motorized calendar rollers 4 positioned on end sections of slot 2 to rotate in an alternate direction to translate wire from one end to another end of body, a laser acuity sensor 5 attached on body 1 to detect the diameter of wire, multiple pneumatic blocks 6 positioned on inner periphery of slot 2 for securely gripping wire inside slot, a capacitance sensor 7 mapped on body 1 to detect the depth of the insulation of wire, an extendable horizontal blade positioned on middle portion of slot 2 to extend for making a cut over insulation of wire."
