MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641009072 A) filed by Flipkart Internet Private Limited, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on Jan. 29, for 'automatic reject diverter system for induction lanes of package sorters.'

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to an induction system (1) for automatic detection and diversion of non-conveyable packages on sorter induction lanes. The system comprises a loading conveyor (3) with primary and secondary sides for receiving and transporting packages (5a, 5b), a first detector sensor (6) at the secondary side, a spacing conveyor (4) operating at higher speed to create gaps between packages, a weighing conveyor (8), an image processing unit (10f) using algorithms to extract package information, a decision making unit (10g) evaluating extracted information against pre-defined criteria, an automatic diversion unit (12) with diversion rollers (12a) or diverter beam (12b), a waiting conveyor (15), an angular conveyor (16) transferring conveyable packages to a sorter (25), and a dedicated bin (22) for non-conveyable packages."
