MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541132911 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 29, 2025, for 'automatic reaction time tester for multimodal cognitive and motor responses.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system 100 to assess multimodal cognitive and motor response of a subject 102 includes a test device 200 including a 12-volt electromagnet 116 to hold and release an iron ruler 112; a speaker 108 configured to provide auditory note to the subject 102; and a microcontroller unit 202 communicatively coupled with a plurality of measurement modules 106 and operatively to the tactile switches with LED indicators 110, including a database, processing unit with one or more processors to generate one or more stimulus response individually for the subject 102 using the device 200 to respond each stimulus; record all RT interval between stimulus generation and responses given by the subject 102; process real-time recorded data having all responses given by the subject using the tactile switches 110; and display real-time feedback of the measured results of all RT given by the subject 102."
