MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006198 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 30, 2024, for 'automatic pipeline installation and maintenance device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Ranjan Sariyal; Dr. Sukhpreet Kaur; Dr. Dinesh Arora; Dr. Parveen Singla; and Dr. Amresh Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automatic pipeline installation and maintenance device, comprising a body 1 configured with plurality of motorized wheels 2 for moving body 1, an AI-based imaging unit 4 for generating 3D mapping of enclosure which is displayed on a touch interactive display panel 5 for allowing user to select location to be installed with pipe, whose distance from body 1 is detected by an ultrasonic sensor, a drilling unit 8 to drill holes equidistantly, a pair of robotic grippers 10 which affixes nailcovers, nails, within drilled holes, followed by positioning of pipe with affixed nails, a robotic arm 11 for engaging clamping members with nails, a nozzle 13 attached with receptacle 12 to dispense adhesive solution over mouth portion of pipe to joint another pipe, multiple optical sensors for detecting leakage within pipes, a motorized cutter 14 for cutting a scrap pipe from a box for covering detected leakage."
