MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010388 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'automated writing assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Bikash Tiwari; Gaurav Goel; and Dr. Parveen Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated writing assistive device, comprising a cylindrical shaped body 1 held by a user over writable surface, a motorized lid 2 is opened by a motorized hinge 3 to allow user to insert a writing tool inside body 1, a telescopic pin 4 arranged inside body 1 for extending to grip tool via a suction cup 5, a computing unit is accessed by a user to input details regarding a content that user desires to write on surface, a holographic projection unit installed on body 1 for projecting a holographic image on surface to provide assistance to user, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 6 and an OCR (Optical Character Reader) module detect inaccuracy spellings of content, a microphone 8 accessed by user to specify portion to be highlighted, an electronic nozzle 9 dispenses a highlighting agent on user specified portion of content."
