MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521109738 A) filed by Gokul Global University, Patan, Gujarat, on Nov. 11, 2025, for 'automated wrist watch battery replacing device.'

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated wrist watch battery replacing device, comprises a platform 1 positioned over a fixed surface by means of plurality of suction cups 2 to adhere platform 1, a touch interactive display panel 3 to provide input, a vertical pole 4 an primary expandable disc 5 that is accessed by the user to position dial of the watch, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 6 for capturing and processing images of the watch, a motorized expandable pulley arrangement 7 to provide appropriate extension and retraction of the disc, a motorized lead screw unit 8 to provide translation to a secondary expandable disc 9, plurality of clamps 11 to grip the back cover, a motorized ball and socket joint 12 for opening the back cover, a robotic gripper 13 to remove battery of the watch, a chamber 16 stored with plurality of new batteries."
