MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004720 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 23, 2024, for 'automated wound dressing device.'

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an automated wound dressing device, comprising a body 1 installed with a button 2 accessed by user for activating/deactivating device, an artificial intelligence-based primary imaging unit 3 installed on body 1 for capturing and determining user's height present in vicinity of body 1, a telescopically operated L-shaped rod 4 attached on body 1 that extend to position a cylindrical member 5 installed on rod 4 in proximity to wounded body part of user, multiple C-shaped extendable plates 6 and links 7 attached within cylindrical member 5 for allowing user to insert user's wounded body part within member 5, an artificial intelligence-based secondary imaging unit 8 installed within member 5 for determining intensity of wound, a motorized roller 11 coiled with an adhesive bandage installed within member 5 via a motorized circular slider 12 for wrapping bandage on wounded body part."
