MUMBAI, India, April 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311071117 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Oct. 18, 2023, for 'automated workpiece twisting device.'
Inventor(s) include Inderpreet Singh.
The application for the patent was published on April 25, under issue no. 17/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated workpiece twisting device, comprises of a platform 1 configured with a motorized guiding rails 2 supported with a plate 3 accommodated with multiple iron rods, a L-shaped telescopic operated bars 4 configured with a motorized clipper 5 for translating plate 3 in proximity to rods upon manual pressing of a button 6, an artificial intelligence image capturing unit 7 for capturing multiple images of rods to detect proximity of rods with bars 4 for positioning clipper 5 to grip, a pair of motorized sliders 8 configured with a pneumatic link 9 equipped with a iris operated unit 10 to translate link 9 to accommodate ends of rod, and multiple motorized bearings 11 to rotate which in turn rotates rod followed by moving rod in to and fro direction via a quick return arrangement in order to aid in twisting of rod."
