MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311084471 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 11, 2023, for 'automated workpiece bending device.'

Inventor(s) include Pradeep Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated workpiece bending device, comprising a frame 1 installed on a fixed surface, herein the frame 1 is mapped with a touch interactive display panel 2 that is accessed by user for providing input regarding shape of workpiece, a pair of motorized primary rollers 3 arranged on frame 1 accessed by a user for positioning a workpiece over rollers 3, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 integrated with a processor for capturing and processing surrounding images, to monitor positioning of workpiece over primary rollers 3, a motorized secondary roller 5 arranged over primary rollers 3 by means of a crank and slider arrangement 6 to move secondary roller 5 in a downward direction forcing secondary roller 5 over mid portion of workpiece and an angle sensor mapped on frame 1 for monitoring bending angle of workpiece."
