MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011899 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 12, for 'automated wooden plank carving device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated wooden plank carving device, comprising a platform 101 positioned over a ground surface, multiple motorized wheels 102 provide translation to platform 101 over surface, a touch interactive display panel 103 enables user to provide input regarding a design that is to be carved over plank, an imaging unit 104 determines dimensions of plank, two hydraulic rods 105 extends and grip plank via a plate 106, multiple suction units 107 create a negative pressure to affix plank with plate 106 to restrict movement of plank, a tray 108 stored with multiple magnetic carving tools, a robotic gripper 109 withdraws evaluated tool(s) from tray 108, a robotic link 110 configured with an electromagnet 111 that is accessed by gripper 109 to attach withdrawn tool with electromagnet 111, that affixes tool with electromagnet 111 in order to enable link 110 to carve user-specified design over plank via tool."
