MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020070 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 18, 2024, for 'automated wooden log splitting device.'

Inventor(s) include M. Moni; Jyoti Sharma; Surbhi; and Vikas Yadav.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated wooden log splitting device, comprising an elongated hollow body 1 having a first end 2 gripped by a user and a second end 3 installed with a horizontal bar 4 to be positioned in contact with a wooden log, a T-shaped rod 5 is configured with the body 1 for providing support, a camera 6 mounted on the body 1 for detecting dimensions of wooden log, plurality of C-shaped extendable members 7 installed with bar 4 which are extended as per dimension of log and plurality of motorized hinges 8 for deploying members 7 for deploying members 7 to securely grip log between bar 4 and members 7, a pin 9 installed within body 1 via an electromagnetic spring to strike pin 9 on log for splitting wooden log, and a speaker 10 mounted on body 1 for notifying the user to collect the split wooden log."
