MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010102 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'automated wooden log engraving device.'

Inventor(s) include Aaditya Jain; and Farah Deeba.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated wooden log engraving device, comprises of platform 1 utilize to position on a ground surface, a touch enabled screen 3 mounted on the platform 1 for selecting a design that is to be engraved on a wooden log, a rectangular plate 4 mounted at a first portion of the platform 1 via a link 5 for positioning the evaluated dimension of wooden log, a camera 6 mounted on the platform 1 for detecting placement of the wooden log on the plate 4, a clamp 7 arranged on the plate 4 to grip one end of the log, and a sliding unit 9 embedded between the clamp 7 and an extendable L-shape frame 8 configured between the clamp 7 and platform 1 for moving another end of the log towards a motorized chain saw 10 installed at second portion of platform 1 for engraving user-selected design on the log."
