MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311079859 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Nov. 24, 2023, for 'automated wooden log carrying device.'

Inventor(s) include Manish Sharma; and Pradeep Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on May 30, under issue no. 22/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated wooden log carrying device, comprises of a telescopically operated frame 1 having a first and second portion attached with a vehicle, an imaging unit 3 for capturing and processing images of surroundings of frame 1, a pair of C-shaped motorized clamps 4 for gripping and lifting logs from surface, an ultrasonic sensor installed on frame 1 for detecting length of logs, a motorized sliding unit 5 for positioning clamps 4 at an optimum distance in order to clamp 4 logs with frame 1, a robotic gripper 6 attached with frame 1 for securing a chain attached with frame 1 around logs and a robotic link 7 configured with a fastening tool 8, attached with frame 1 for fastening chain in order to secure logs with frame 1."
