MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411022918 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 23, 2024, for 'automated wooden flooring laying device.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 24, under issue no. 43/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated wooden flooring laying device, comprising a platform 1developed to be positioned on a ground surface, an AI-based imaging unit 2 to capture images in vicinity of platform 1, touch interactive display panel 3 to display captured images, motorized omnidirectional wheels 5 to move platform 1on the surface, a chamber 6 for storing an adhesive solution, electronically controlled nozzle 7 to dispense adhesive solution on surface, flap 8 to spread the solution on surface, telescopically operated L-shaped rod 9 to extend/retract to position the flap 8 over the dispensed solution, motorized ball and socket joint 10 to provide angular movement to flap 8 on the surface, robotic arms 11 to grip the wooden tiles, multi-sectioned chamber 6 to store wooden tiles, a speaker 12 to notify user to perform cutting of tiles and a holographic projector 13 to project a virtual image of a required pattern of tile."
