MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024924 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'automated wood inlay designing device.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated wood inlay designing device, comprising a housing 1 positioned on a fixed surface, a display panel 2 arranged on the housing 1 to receive input, a lid integrated on the housing 1 for inserting wooden template, a platform arranged inside the housing 1 for accommodating the wooden template, an imaging unit 4 installed inside the body for monitoring pattern of the template, a bar 5 suspended from ceiling of the housing 1 for positioning a laser cutter in proximity to the platform, a robotic arm 6 installed inside the housing 1 for gripping and positioning a wooden board stored in a storage chamber 7 onto the platform, a motorized drilling unit 9 suspended on the housing 1 by means of a pole 8 to drill for excavating a protruded portion of the template, a buffing pad integrated on the pole 8 for polishing the surface of the board."
