MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006194 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 30, 2024, for 'automated wire winding device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Sushil Kumar; Dr. Sukhpreet Kaur; Dr. Saurabh Chaitanya; Shivam Pandey; Rohit Singh; and Piyush Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated wire winding device, comprising a housing 1, a touch interactive display panel 2 that is accessed by a user for providing input regarding a user-desired length of wire that is to be wrapped, a chamber 3 stored with a wire roll, a robotic arm 4 for gripping a free end of wire, a first pulley 5 through which arm engages gripped wire, a second motorized pulley 6 on which free end of wire is engaged, an inbuilt microcontroller actuates second motorized pulley 6 to rotate for wrapping engaged wire, an ultrasonic sensor 7 for monitoring length of wire unwrapped from roll, a blade 8 to cut wire, plurality of motorized rollers 9 that a gapping is created at mid of rollers, one of plurality of cylindrical structures 10 positioned in the gapping, and an electromagnet 11 integrated on rim of second motorized pulley 6 to continue rim."
