MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026635 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 30, 2024, for 'automated wire splicing device for outdoor transmission wires.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated wire splicing device for outdoor transmission wires, comprising a platform 1 positioned on a ground surface underneath a ceiling portion of an enclosure and installed with a plate 2, touch enabled screen for enabling a user to give input commands for splicing transmission wires, camera 4 for capturing images of wire, motorized omnidirectional wheels 5 positioning platform 1 vertically underneath user-selected location, scissor lift arrangement 6 for lifting and positioning platform 1 in proximity to user-selected location of wire, first robotic arm 7 for positioning primary curved shape extendable member 8 around wire, primary member 8 to extend view of enclosing wire, sliding unit 10 for rotating a pneumatic blade 9 in view of marking a cut on wire, pair of robotic gripper 11 for gripping ends of wires and position conductive parts of wires in contact and twist and tangle wires in view of splicing wires."
