MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024161 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'automated wheel locking device.'

Inventor(s) include Abhijeet Kumar; Pardeep; Sahil Sharma; Vikashdeep Singh Mann; and Kushdeep Rana.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated wheel locking device, comprising a frame 1 positioned over a ground surface and around a wheel of a vehicle by means of plurality of primary suction units 2, a microphone 3 receives voice command of a user regrading locking of wheel, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit determines dimension of wheel, two extendable wedge shaped members 4 configured with frame 1 by means of a pair of motorized sliding units 5 to provide translation to members 4 for positioning members 4 in contact with wheel that restrict movement of wheel over surface, a motorized drawer provides appropriate extension and retraction to members 4, a pair of horizontal hydraulic rods 6 deployed around lateral sides of wheel, and an extendable flap 8 are deployed by a motorized hinge joint for restricting movement of members 4, thereby securely locking wheel."
