MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019146 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'automated wheel chair accommodation device for vehicle.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated wheel chair accommodation device for vehicle comprises of a frame 1 developed associated with the device to be positioned on a rooftop of a vehicle, wherein plurality of electromagnetic clamps 2 installed beneath the frame 1 for firmly gripping the rooftop in a secured manner, an artificial intelligence-based image capturing module 3 installed on the body for capturing multiple images of surrounding of a vehicle respectively, a motorized disc 4 installed within frame 1 and configured with a telescopic gripping unit 5 to rotate and position gripping unit 5 in proximity to chair, two-axis sliding arrangement 6 assembled in between gripping unit 5 and disc 4 that slides gripping unit 5 towards chair."
