MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004409 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 22, 2024, for 'automated wheel balancing device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated wheel balancing device, comprising a platform 1 positioned on a ground surface, wherein platform 1 is accessed by a user to place a rim of a wheel which is detected by a weight sensor, a motorized sliding arrangement 3 mapped on platform 1 for providing moving two motorized rollers 4 towards each other for gripping of rim between rollers 4, a laser sensor mapped on platform 1 detects misalignment of rim, a robotic link 5 configured with platform 1 for positioning a X-shaped frame 6 over rim, a primary motorized hinge joint 8 configured with each end of frame 6 for orienting curve shaped tine 7 for gripping of rim, four secondary hinge joint 9 configured within frame 6 for orienting frame 6 for pressing rim to correct misalignment, an optical sensor detects damage on rim, and a speaker 10 notifies user regarding damage."
