MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025994 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'automated water turbine cleaning device.'

Inventor(s) include Raman Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated water turbine cleaning device, comprising body 1 developed to be positioned over a water body, multiple motorized propellers 2 are positioned on the frame for providing movement to body 1 on water, ballast tank 3 installed with body 1 for adjusting level fluid level within tank 3 to achieve the desired buoyancy, a SONAR (Sound Navigation and Ranging) 4 installed on body 1 to emit acoustic signals and receive corresponding echoes for determining distance between body 1 and water turbines installed inside water body, multiple cameras 5 mounted on body 1 for detecting stains on turbine, motorized dual axis slider 6 integrated on top portion of body 1 to provide movement to a scrubbing brush 7 arranged on slider 6, scrubbing brush 7 arranged on slider 6 by means of a telescopically operated rod 8 to extend/ retract for positioning brush 7 over blades and shaft of turbine."
