MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411003997 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 19, 2024, for 'automated water filtration device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A automated water filtration device includes a body 1 having a first and second portion 2, 3 installed on surface, first portion 2 crafted with an inlet 4 accessed by user for filling water to be filtered which is received by first layer 6 of filtration unit 5 for removing debris and sediments, a second layer 8 having coarse sand and fine sand film removes silt and pollutants from sieved water, a third layer 9 having gravel and charcoal film arranged underneath second layer 8 absorbs compounds like chlorine and removes foul smell from water, a film 10 of coffee and dried leaves filters residual sediments left in filtered water which is then collected in a chamber 11 arranged underneath filtration unit 5, chamber 11 is integrated with multiple heating coils 12 boils filtered water attenuate microorganism present in water, a tap 13 accessed by user for collecting filtered water."
