MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018863 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 14, 2024, for 'automated wasp feeding device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated wasp feeding device, comprising a cylindrical shaped perforated body 1 having a first opening 2 which enables a user to fill food items for wasps inside body 1, a computing unit accessed by user to input details regarding a feeding schedule of wasps, a motorized hinge joint 4 opens a lid 5 to allow entrance of wasps inside body 1, a temperature sensor detects temperature inside body 1, multiple motorized iris lid 6 integrated within each perforations to allow passage of air inside body 1, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 7 determines accumulation of debris on a base plate 8, a motorized pivot joint attached with plate 8 for tilting plate 8 to discard debris into a collection chamber arranged adjacent to plate 8, a timer monitors feeding time of wasps, and a vibration unit 9 generates vibrations to agitate wasps to come out of body 1."
