MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411003466 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 17, 2024, for 'automated vehicle overload control system.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Gaurav Arora; Gopal Kumar Choudhary; and Jyotirnob Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated vehicle overload control system, comprises of plurality of weight sensors 1 installed at base of heavy vehicle's carriage 2 for monitoring weight of luggage loaded on the vehicle, an inbuilt processing unit for determining overloaded vehicle, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 for detecting if the luggage loaded in vehicle is protruded outside the vehicle, plurality of LEDs (light emitting diodes) 4 for getting illuminated in a particular color to notify a concerned person regarding the overloaded status of vehicle, an audio unit 5 for alerting the personnel to reduce the loading pattern of vehicle, a GPS (global positioning system) module for detecting real-time location of the vehicle and a concerned traffic regulatory authority is notified via a computing unit 6 for taking regulatory measures."
